LUNYEE 4040 Titan CNC Router: Complete Assembly and Installation Guide

LUNYEE 4040 Titan CNC RouterCorrectly setting up the LUNYEE 4040 Titan CNC Routeris an important first step toward smooth, reliable operation. Proper assembly ensures that the machine is stable, moving parts are securely attached, and the spindle and electrical connections are ready for use.

This guide covers the main assembly steps for the LUNYEE 4040 Titan, from preparing the installation area, assembling the X-axis module, installing the spindle and dust collection shoe, connecting the control box, and completing the initial controller setup.

Preparation Before Starting

Before starting assembly, prepare a suitable workspace and ensure that you have all the necessary tools.

Preparing the Installation Area

After assembly, the LUNYEE 4040 Titan measures approximately 624 × 645 × 446 mm. To ensure proper ventilation, leave at least 100 mm of space around the machine, especially around the control box and spindle. Do not place the machine directly against a wall or block the vents.

Place the machine on a level, stable worktable with a load capacity of at least 50 kg. A sturdy metal worktable or thick solid wood table is recommended. A stable work surface helps reduce vibrations during machining.

Before connecting the machine to power, ensure that the wall outlet is properly grounded and that the machine's voltage selector matches the available power supply (110 VAC or 220 VAC).

Required Tools

The assembly kit includes the necessary hex keys. Please also prepare the following:

l A set of hex keys, including M3, M5, and M6 sizes

l A compact spirit level for checking that the worktable and machine are level

l A fine-point marker for marking the orientation of parts as needed

l Lint-free cleaning cloths for wiping dust and oil from the surfaces of parts

l 14 mm and 17 mm open-end wrenches for installing spindle tools

Gloves are optional and can help protect the machine surfaces during assembly.

Step1: Installing the X-Axis Module

The first major assembly step is installing the X-axis module onto the Y-axis module platform.

Positioning the X-Axis Module

Place the Y-axis module platform on a stable worktable with the motor facing the rear of the machine.

Stand the X-axis module upright and carefully position it between the slots on both sides of the Y-axis module platform.

Ensure that both sides of the X-axis module are fully inserted into the corresponding slots before letting go.

Important: During this step, support the X-axis module firmly. If it is not fully seated, the module may fall or shift during assembly.

Securing the X-Axis Module

Once the X-axis module is correctly positioned, use the included #4 hex key to install eight M5 × 16 socket head screws.

Tighten the screws securely through the mounting holes on the sides.

After tightening, check the X-axis module lightly by hand. It should be securely fixed without excessive movement or wobbling.

Step2: Installing the Spindle Tool

Install the cutting tool before attaching the spindle to the machine.

Place the spindle and cutting tool in a stable location. Use the included 14 mm and 17 mm open-end wrenches to attach the cutting tool to the spindle.

Turn the two wrenches in opposite directions to securely tighten the tool.

Use the same wrench combination when changing the cutting tool later.

Important: Always ensure that the tool nut is securely tightened before machining. Improperly tightened tools may loosen or fall during operation, creating a safety hazard.

Step3: Installing the Spindle Clamp

The LUNYEE 4040 Titan uses a φ55 spindle clamp to secure the spindle to the Z-axis assembly.

Preparing the Spindle Clamp

Please prepare the following parts:

l φ55 spindle clamp

l Four M6 × 60 socket head screws

l Four M6 flat washers

l #5 hex key

l Assembled spindle and cutting tool

Position the clamp, washers, screws, and spindle according to the mounting orientation shown in the assembly diagram.

Installing the Spindle

Align the assembled spindle and clamp with the corresponding mounting holes on the Z-axis assembly.

Tighten the four M6 × 60 screws using the #5 hex key.

Before fully tightening the screws, check the gaps on both sides of the clamp. The gaps should be nearly equal to ensure the spindle is held evenly.

Also check the vertical position of the spindle. Ensure that the height of the red frame shown in the assembly reference diagram does not exceed 20 mm.

Once the position is confirmed, tighten the screws securely.

Step4: Installing the Clamp Plates

The included clamp plates can be attached directly to the slots in the machine's base plate.

Remove the four sets of clamp plates and insert them into the corresponding slots shown in the assembly diagram.

These plates can be positioned according to the size and location of the workpiece during machining.

Step5: Installing the Spindle Dust Collection Shoe

The spindle dust collection shoe helps collect chips and dust during machining.

Open the handle of the dust collection shoe and attach it to the tip of the spindle in the correct orientation.

Once it is fully seated, press the handle firmly to secure the dust collection shoe.

Before starting the machining job, ensure that the dust collection shoe is correctly installed.

Step6: Installing the Electrical Control Box

The electrical control box is attached to the right side of the machine.

Installing the Antenna

Attach the antenna to the designated connector on the electrical control box.

Before operating the machine, ensure that the antenna is securely attached.

Positioning the Control Box and Connecting the Cables

Position the electrical control box on the right side of the machine.

Connect the corresponding cables to the matching connectors according to the labels and wiring diagram.

Before turning on the machine, ensure that all connectors are fully inserted and that the cables are neatly organized without excessive tension.

Step7: Connecting and Securing the Cables

Proper cable routing is important for the reliable operation of the machine and the safe movement of moving parts.

Connect the main power, spindle plug, spindle interlock, and tool setting cable according to the connection diagram.

Pay special attention to the cable harness connected to the terminal block. As shown in the installation diagram, insert the shorter wiring harness into the lower terminals and the longer wiring harness into the upper terminals.

After connecting the cables:

1. Ensure that each connector is fully inserted.

2. Ensure that the cables are not loose or under excessive tension.

3. Keep the cables away from moving parts as much as possible.

4. Ensure that there are no cable crossings that could interfere with the machine's movement.

5. Carefully inspect the area around the terminal block before turning on the power.

Step8: Leveling and Machine Inspection

Perform a basic machine inspection before starting the first machining job.

Use the spirit level to ensure that the worktable is stable and properly level.

Next, inspect the assembled machine:

l Ensure that the X-axis module is securely fixed.
